Filmed over 4 years, “Wanted Farmers” tells the story of the Elliot family and their epic journey from Maguiresbridge in Fermanagh to South Dakota. In 2004 Rodney Elliot saw an ad in Farming Life asking UK dairy farmers to relocate to South Dakota. Restricted by EU regulations and a strict milk quota system Rodney dared to dream of building a mega dairy in America. The Elliots sold the family farm and all their possessions only to be turned back at the 11th hour by US immigration at Dublin Airport. After a nerve wracking 6 months they finally made it to South Dakota but the challenges ahead were massive. Rodney was intending to build a 1400 cow dairy during one of the most severe winters on record at a cost of $8 million.
